Writer
DAN RICHTER

Adopted into a loving family when he was 6 weeks old, Dan was raised in a small arts community in New York. He was diagnosed with bone cancer at age 8, and had his left leg amputated below the knee. He went on to become a championship skier, opera singer, renowned facilitator, and ultimately got his Master's degree in educational psychology.

When Dan turned 30, left his career as a college counselor behind, and moved to Los Angeles to pursue his dream of writing television. That year, he was selected for the prestigious ABC/Disney Writers' Program and has been writing ever since, for shows as diverse as his life experiences, ranging from "The Fosters" on Freeform, to VH1's "Pop-up Video: Jersey Shore".
