WRITER
PETER SHELDRICK

After finishing his post-secondary education at York University and The New School of Drama in Toronto, Canada, Peter’s early career saw him on stage performing in such plays as the Canadian debut of John Patrick Shanley’s three-hander, “Missing Marisa”, and; playing in indie features like JIGSAW. On the small screen, Peter was in commercials for the NFL and Volkswagen.

During this time, he was bitten by the writing bug and developed and produced his plays, “To Be Or Not To Be…”, “Just Desserts” and “The Audition”.

After the positive response of all three, but specifically “The Audition”, Peter tiptoed into the arena where his true passion lay: films.

Taking his one-act play “The Audition” and adapting it into a short script, he raised enough pennies to shoot it as a film. Fortunately, this led to him writing his first feature, DEAD MARY, which sold to Peace Arch Films. This one opportunity allowed Peter to grow and develop as a screenwriter (working on such things as the sequel to Dead Mary and story editing and pitching to Peace Arch’s hierarchy).

More recently, Peter’s THE WITCHHUNTER, won the best action script at Shore Festival, and; he optioned, and adapted, the best selling novel, The Therapist, written by BA Paris. Retitled THE CIRCLE, it is being produced by Elizabeth Fowler, with Vaughn Stein directing. Principal photography is set for 2024.

Peter’s published articles have appeared in Canada’s national newspaper, The National Post, as well as the online publication, Toronto Path.

He’s husband to a Master Pilates Instructor who keeps him walking a straight line, and father to three wonderful children.

In his spare time, Peter trains a small and exclusive clientele in all things fitness, and he himself can be found in his studio training and boxing. He also plays hockey, and coaches adolescent boys and girls in this incredible sport.
