ROXANNE MESSINA CAPTOR is an Emmy nominated Writer, Director and Producer and a Directing protégé of Francis Ford Coppola. She was awarded the CHEVALIER DE L’ORDRE DES ARTS ET DES LETTRES by the REPUBLIC OF FRANCE IN 2005 and the Humanatias and Ohio State Awards for the CBS movie "Home Sweet Homeless." She is Chairperson of the CA ARTS COUNCIL appointed by Governor Gavin Newsom.

Messina Captor has written, directed and produced network and cable MOWS and Series. She Executive Produced and wrote the story for the Hallmark Channel movie "Dream Moms" which aired May 2023. As an Executive Producer, Messina Captor just completed production on the Christmas movie, “Dickens of a Christmas”. Some of the other titles are: "Her Married Lover" Lifetime TV. "Dead On Sight" HBO. "The Trujillos" ABC. "Home Sweet Homeless" CBS (Emmy Nomination), "Fatal Vows" CBS and "In Dreams" CBS. She is also an accomplished theatre director and choreographer.

In 2023/24 Messina Captor was commissioned by BroadStage to produce and direct the documentary on Jazz Grammy Winner Stanley Clarke. The film documents Clarke’s work as well as his three-year residency at BroadStage working with music students from Santa Monica College. In 2024 she produced a documentary on Emmy winning actress Barbara Bain for the Mitzi Blahd grant program.

Messina Captor was a production apprentice on "The Outsiders," "Rumblefish" and assistant choreographer on "The Cotton Club".

She directed and choreographed the Pre-Broadway “Summer Stock”. “The Vow,” by Stephanie Liss. Vincent Canby's “After All” -Hal Linden. “Trotsky’s Garden” -Dina Merrill, Kurtwood Smith and Ayre Gross.

Her award-winning work includes: The Digital series "The Salon" 2020. -Harry Shearer, Sam Rubin, Kate Linder, Mason Grammer. WINNER- Best Ensemble, Indie Series Awards. WINNER- Best Digital Series-IHollywood Film Festival; “Homecoming: Veterans, Wives and Mothers”, -Five Start Award-Best of Festival-IHollywood Film Festival, San Pedro International FF "Homecoming" has had special screenings for the UN and NY Bar Association Members and Common Defense, supported by Dr. Biden. “Homecoming” screens on Amazon Prime. All can be seen on Shorts TV. Keeping with the theme of Military Women her film “Thank You for Your Service” was in the Clermont-Ferrand FF and won Best Narrative Feature, Women’s History Month. It can be seen on Shorts TV and EMEA TV.

The Oscar qualified, Cannes Film Festival Short Film Corner, Comedy Central, now on Tubi “A Couple of White Chicks at the Hairdresser” -Shelley Long, Harry Shearer. The film was Short TV'S 2019 Oscar pic, Laemmle theatres, Valley Film Festival.

Messina Captor was one of the founding Original Programming Executives of Turner Network Television and the Former Executive Director of the SF International Film Festival and Society where she increased box office and attendance by 40%. Messina Captor's first career was as a professional ballerina and triple threat on Broadway. She was also Assistant choreographer to Gene Kelly on "One From the Heart."

Messina Captor was guest Speaker -Havana, Cuba’s International Festival of New Latin American Cinema. Messina Captor served on the Policy-Making Committee for higher education and the Policy Committee for Runaway Production for Governor Gavin Newsom. She is on the policy committee for the state Faculty Association for Ca. Community Colleges.

As a professor at New York Film Academy and Santa Monica College, he heads documentary production. Formerly taught at Emerson College LA, UCLA and Cal-Arts. She is a member of the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, Who’s Who in America, NAPTE, and Greenlight Women.
